Is Paul Walker in Tokyo Drift? ›

Walker didn't reprise his role as Brian in Tokyo Drift, but that's not because he didn't want to. He revealed in the past that his absence came down to a new direction that the studio wanted to take the Fast & Furious franchise.

The scenes of Sean clumsily drifting up the mountain were actually filmed with Tsuchiya behind the wheel. Tsuchiya planned out the stunts with Terry Leonard, the second unit director, who went out of his way to emphasize how bad the driving needed to be. But when it worked, it worked.
